How does DIDE Developer menu tool work?

Hello invictus and H.O.G.H family
There are many methods to get access to developer menu:

1- Deadly cobra developer menu




But there is a problem, I tried to look what he changed, I found (I guess), they are debugconf files, I copied them to my original data0 but developer menu didnt work, so there are another things to edit to open developer menu.
Finally I couldnt find what I need to edit more.
If I use this directly, it works with deadly cobra's data0.pak but there is one problem too.
His data0.pak cant be changed/modificated. I mean, when I try to change his data0 files, error messages occures "read-only"

I tried many ways to repair archive or use 7-zip but archive doesnt let you change anything (you can test his file, doesnt matter if you have game or not, just download his file and try to change something in his data0.pak)
I want to change something because there are something I want to do speacialize, so I need a developer menu access which lets me change system files everything I want.

2- Finally I found invictus's developer activator, now I can change everything I want, thank you.
But it is not all yet..
The activator must be opened to use it, deadly cobra made it by changing something on system files but he protected his work (I guess)

Hmm, I want to know how to make or unpack this invictus's tool (to make it personal for me by change some cheats add/remove)
And want to learn how to activate developer menu manually as cobra did.

Its not protected by DeadlyCobra... I downloaded his pak files and it seems that they are corrupted.
The original files can simply be opened by WinRAR or any other packing software.
You can also use "Dragon Unpacker" --> https://www.elberethzone.net/dragon-unpacker.html

Pak explorer doesn't work, when I select open data0.pak, it doesn't open it anyway.
Dragon unpacker unpacked it yes but it doesn't let edit data0.pak, when I unpack some file from dragon, how can I repack it again? There is no way to do this, dragon unpacker just unpacks, doesn't let fix and repack again. I couldn't change edited one with old one by dragon.

Winrar, yes winrar said me it is corrupted, the weird thing is, it works if you directly copy deadlycobra's data0 to Dead island folder.
But when you try to edit something, the game doesn't work.
So I tried to repair it by winrar, but later I saw that winrar copied files 2 times in data0.pak (I don't know why but there are 2 copies each file in repaired rar and also with repaired data0, game doesn't work)

When I tried to edit it without any repair, the game doesn't work.
I say again, it is so weird that the game works with corrupted data0 but when I edit it, game doesn't work ??
I just edited the things which I've already edited original data0 without any problem.
How does deadlycobra's corrupted archive works?
There is no way to fix the archive or edit corrupted data0.pak

So second select, it would be good if I could edit trainer or learn how to use developer menu manually by editing files.
And I tried to use many ways to use/activate it manually but none of them worked.
Maybe you could help here.

I used WinRAR to unpack the pak files...
Now you can edit the files you want and pack it again with WinRAR. But you must pack it as a ZIP archive.
And you have to pack the whole folder again.
For me its working with the original game files and the edited one from DeadlyCobra...

Okay invictus, here what I did step by step and what happened at last.
1 Unpacked it with winrar
2 Edited it and repacked as .zip
3 Game worked it opened
4 But when I select player and RIGHT AFTER I press play button, just black screen. Nothing else.

I checked it on taskmanager, it seems works well but in game screen it shows just black screen, no sound no ingame effect or anything. And I have to alt+f4 to quit.
So what do you think?

I think you made a mistake by editing the files...
Below is the "Data0.pak" fom DeadlyCobra.
I unpacked it and packed it again and left the files inside untouched...
Its working for version 1.1.2. But the Data0.pak he is using is not from this version.

Sorry I didn't get what did you want to mean his data0 is not for 1.1.2? I use his data0 directly with 1.1.2 and the problem is editing it.
I downloaded your data0 tried to open it, winrar did not show any error message it is good for now or wait I will try to edit this and use...

I edited it and it worked, I don't know what was the difference between us.

After edits I played but the game was different.
For example max level is 50 but it was 60?
Fist has infinity power and distance.
You can kill any zombie from anywhere with fist, what is this?
The data0 you gave me is different from cobra's?

Why many things have changed?
I did not change these settings. (I dont even know how to)
Cobra's data0 from youtube link was ONLY includes dev menu which was different from original data0 I have
But the data0 you gave me includes dev menu but many changes too, do you know why?

EDIT 3: Did you download full modded data0? It seems like that. I just wanted to dev menu data0
If so, please try to fix data0 which includes ONYL dev menu data0

Yes... It was my fault...
I took the Data0.pak from the complete mod because i thought it was the same.
